1981 ?
A couple of rehearsals at Staines Road were followed up by an astonishly inept live performance
at the Kaleidescope Studios, Kingston. Although hampered by a few technical difficulties (not
least the keyboard player's sudden inability to operate his synth..) the choice of material and lack
of rehearsal made this one of the most embarrasing gigs of all time. The band's attempt at 'Feedback',
normally a winner, typifies the whole evening - particularly the moment when the drummer loses
the plot completely and slows the tempo right down to some kind of grotesque shuffle.
Be warned - tape recordings
exist of this gig and they make for very unpleasant listening.
It was inevitable that the band should now look towards solo projects following this debacle.... |
